The spring months of April and May is the ideal time to explore the culture on offer in Vienna, taking advantage of the warmer weather and quieter streets.
Known for its traditionally festive markets, Vienna holds four main markets across the city that showcase a number of independent food stalls, Easter egg stalls and plenty of creative workshops to get involved in. Schönbrunn Palace and Freyung market are two of the most famous – the latter due to its feat of building the largest Easter egg tower in Europe. The city is in bloom throughout the spring period, with parks becoming multi-colored blankets of blubs and blossoms and the opening of the rose gardens and Orangeries. Historically priding itself in prestigious production of music, concerts are an important part of Viennese culture and the legacy of Mozart is still pronounced today – you can visit a number of his residences across the city, as well as enjoy the busy calendar of concerts in the city’s finest music venues, such as the State Opera House.
